On The Streets - The Journey So Far

3 months ago after holding a youth cafe style fortnight in the church we felt called to actually GO and reach out to the young people where they are. We had a small group of people involved in the fortnight from a couple of churches who were keen to form a foundational group, to pray into, and advance towards our call. This was believed to be another step born from the hours of prayer invested in our community by the churches.

Late September we met at the church for prayer before moving out with our first team. Our mission was to go meet young people where they are, with the love of Jesus working through us.

Our evenings usually involve, those praying and those out on the streets, meeting for a time of fellowship and prayer before going out. We then get in contact with the PDSO's to find out what's been going on in the area and let them know we're available in the area. Then it's time to move out with the team (and some hot chocolate) and scout the area. Once we find young people we generally try to go and meet them in 2's or 3's so as not to be intimidating and spend time giving out hot chocolate and talking to them. This often leads to deeper questions as they try to understand why on earth we are doing it???!
